Obituary for Carole Braden

Carole Braden
Norma "Carole" Braden

We are remembering the life, love, kindness, passion & energy of Carole Braden, who
passed away peacefully on Sunday March 25, 2018.
Carole was born in White Fox Saskatchewan on March 10, 1940. She was the fifth child of
Lou and Norman Braden. The family moved to Flin Flon, Manitoba from Love Saskatchewan
in 1950. She attended Love Saskatchewan school, Birchview and Hapnot schools in Flin Flon.
She then work many years at the Royal Drugs Store. She thoroughly enjoyed working there
and the discussions that she had with her boss, Merv Ginsberg, about the many books that
they had read.
Carole also enjoyed curling and she loved playing crib.
Carole was predeceased by her father and mother Norman and Lou (Collison) Braden, four
siblings; Merna (Cliff) Foster, Billie (Bob) Kinnear, Bing (Shirley) Braden & Boda (Bob)
Lawrence.
She married Robert Russell on June 22, 1957. They had four children.
Carole is survived by her loving children; Danny (Diane)Russell, Bing Russell, Bobbi (Dave)
Banting and Todd Russell. She is also survived by her ex husband Robert Russell and four
grandchildren; Gage, Hali, Jaida & Ryan. Also left to mourn are her sisters: Colleen (Frank)
Maga, Sharry (Gene) Fredeen, and many nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins.
All of her family and friends are thankful for the many wonderful things that she has done
for them; often neglecting herself by putting others first. The most grateful is her youngest
sister Sharry, whose life she saved by running back into a burning house and up the stairs to
carry her down, and out of harm's way.

When I come to the end of my journey
And I travel my last weary mile,
Just forget, if you can that I ever frowned
And remember only the smile.
Forget unkind words I have spoken;
Remember some good I have done,
Forget that I ever had a heartache
And remember I had loads of fun.
Forget that I've stumbled & blundered
And sometimes fell by the way.
Remember I have fought some hard battles
And won, ere the close of the day,
Then forget to grieve for my going,
I would not have you sad for a day.
But in summer just gather some flowers
And remember the place where I lay.
And come in the evening
When the sun paints the sky in the west,
Stand for a few moments beside me
And remember only my best.
