Obituary for Lyle King

Lyle King
Lyle King
Lyle was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to the parents of Rita and Bill King. He was one of seven siblings. Lyle moved to several cities growing up as his father was in the military. He came to Flin Flon to work at his Uncle Ray Jackson’s garage and shortly after was hired on at HudBay. He began his career in the zinc plant working at various jobs in that area until his transfer underground to Trout Lake Mine.
Lyle met Debbie in 1973 and they were married a year later. Together they raised two sons, Kyle and Scott. He loved new adventures with his boys, many fishing and camping trips and memorable vacations were enjoyed. Lyle and Debbie have made many wonderful lifelong friends. The McLean clan was one of them and opened their home to him and he became one of the families. Drago and Darlene Tresnich and Steve and Onalee Stelmach became fast friends.
Time marches on with the busy years passing. One year comes to mind in particular. We burned wood and on one spring day Lyle took ill, having all this unfinished wood that needed to be split and stacked. When his friends asked what they could do to help us out I mentioned the wood. The McFly Construction was started. These great friends jumped right in and split and stacked the wood for winter. We were so appreciative. This is what friends do for each other.
Lyle enjoyed curling, baseball and spending time with family and friends. When our son Kyle and wife Sian were blessed with the arrival of their son William, our life was more complete with our grandson. Now he was finally a Poppa. Lyle adored William and is so very proud of him. Being a grandparent is so rewarding. Lyle and William spent many happy times going sledding, fishing, or just building legos. Following retirement we started going on hot vacations with the Daggs, which were awesome.
Lyle volunteered delivering meals on wheels, he enjoyed this immensely. Lyle was also a member of our Elks Lodge. Many wonderful years were spent helping our community.
He also had a few special fur babies over time. Our latest addition was Sammie girl. They went everywhere together.
As Lyle’s friends will know, he did enjoy his rum, so next time you guys are together, raise that glass and Cheers Lyle.
Lyle was so proud of his sons and the kind, strong men they have become.
